MAC Deep Rooted Lipstick

MAC Deep Rooted Lipstick

As you can probably guess by now, I fell in love with Sephora whilst living in Orlando. I also fell in love with how cheap MAC is there. When Disney Springs opened up both stores next to each other, I developed a serious issue. On my last few days, I popped into MAC with Scarlett and Vikki to have a browse and decided to treat myself as I was leaving and depressed. I came across the MAC Deep Rooted Lipstick after trying on a few different colours. I am in love. It’s completely different to what I thought I would come out with. I usually go for nude or bright colours. Not grey. It has swiftly become a favourite and I get so many compliments when I wear it so thought I’d share it with you.

MAC Deep Rooted: The Colour

The photos really don’t do MAC Deep Rooted any justice! The colour is an incredibly cool, blue-toned lipstick that I never in a million years thought would look good on me. I have generally pink skin that’s or the warmer side. I also have a bit of a red tinge on my hair so you can imagine the pleasant surprise once I tried it on. Before application, it looks slightly brown but once on your lips, it’s much more grey toned.

I’ve been using a MAC lip liner in the colour Stone to apply this and help with longevity. Forgive me that it’s not the neatest, I’m still fairly new to using them alongside my lipstick. I find that this lasts pretty much around the eight-hour mark without reapplying. I think it looks better about half an hour after putting it on as it becomes slightly more matte. The colour can be a little worrying once it starts to fade; it goes slightly patchy and makes you look a bit ill and bruised! Just remember to carry it with you!

Although MAC Deep Rooted is a little out there and probably not for everyone, I’m pretty sure this is going to become an autumn favourite for me. I tend to avoid wearing warm coloured clothing with it and stick to blues, greys and blacks to counteract the pink tones in my skin.
