I realise you might be thinking that we’re only half way through November, but I am so excited for Christmas already from going to the lights switch on and markets in Manchester. I decided to start the season by painting my nails with Christmassy colours, with a red and gold theme. I had a practise on a nail wheel first and found that this combination worked best when building up the colours.
I’ve used the Dior Vernis in 999 as the base colour, which I’ve reviewed here previously. It’s a beautiful, bright red with no shimmer and is one of my favourite polishes. I’ve then used the Barry M Red Glitter varnish at the base of the nail and brushed just past half way to start off the slight ombré effect. I always love red and gold for Christmas colours so then used a little bit of the Nails Inc Glamour Glitter which came with Glamour Magazine last year. It’s fairly sparse so just adds a nice twinkle. At the very base, I’ve used a chunky gold glitter nail polish by Revlon. Topped off with the Seche Vite Top Coat, I’m left with super shiny and smooth Christmas nails.
Please ignore my awful cuticles, I wanted to show you a close up! What are your favourite Christmas nails? If you’ve done a similar post, feel free to leave links below.
