I’ve seen this nail polish across a few blogs and I was lucky enough to find it in a TK Maxx at home! For once, one of my makeup purchases doesn’t seem to have anything wrong with it; the colour matches the name on the tin! I have fallen in love with the colour instantly.
As with all OPI polishes, the varnish is beautifully pigmented and goes on the nail smoothly. I’ve used two coats on mine and that was plenty. It does seem to take a while to dry but the staying power is phenomenal. I find it’s better when you let each layer dry pretty thoroughly, it take a bit longer but the results are amazing! The colour is absolutely gorgeous, it has to be one of the nicest green/blues I have ever seen. It’s a bit brighter than it looks in the bootle once on so don’t be fooled!
I teamed the Mermaid Tears up with another I got in the set called Your Royal Shine-ness. I like using other colours as accents and next time I might try using the silver on every nail as a triangle, alternating between my tips and cuticles. I got three in a set, the third being a crackle one called Shatter the Scales, for £9.99. I think TK Maxx is brilliant for getting pricey nail polishes cheaper, just be careful whether or not they have the right colours attached!
