So this week was our mini vacation week (yes, vacation, not a holiday, I’m that English girl who has picked up American phrases!) so Joe, Leah and I started it off properly with a character breakfast at the Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom where Rhona also came with us. Pooh and friends were there so it was a lovely morning meeting them and getting photos and signatures.
That afternoon we had our Disney ICP Graduation where we got our certificates, a little memory box and had photos taken with Mickey and Minnie. There was also a BBQ but we were way too full after a buffet breakfast! It wasn’t too emotional as we all knew we still had a couple of weeks left.
We went and checked in at the Wilderness Lodge after packing for a night and went to our room. It was absolutely beautiful and we could see the little path that goes through the wood out of our balcony. If I were going to stay in a Disney hotel again, I would honestly always chose this one! It’s themed so nicely with all it’s wooden beams and the activities that you can do on the grounds.
With the dining plan, we had booked in to eat at Teppan Edo which was really lucky as you have to book six months in advance so must have got a cancellation. It’s a restaurant in the Japanese Pavilion at Epcot where a Teppan chef cooks all your food on a hot plate in front of you. Expensive when not on the Dining Plan but so worth it! We had steak and shrimp with noodles and rice and was absolutely mouth watering. He even made a volcano out of onions, purely amazing to watch!
We went on Test Track before coming back and spending the rest of the night by the pool as Joe had never been on before. The beds we stayed in were so comfy we were really reluctant to getting up the next morning as we knew we’d be back in our squeaky Vista Way beds the next night. We skipped breakfast but used out quick service points at the Be Our Guest restaurant in Magic Kingdom. I’ve always wanted to go here but we thought it was table service during the day as well. We placed our order and were given a plastic rose that had GPS tracking in it and after sitting down, someone brought us our beef and horseradish sandwiches over after about 5-10 minutes. That was impressive! The decor was absolutely stunning and there were three rooms that we could chose from; one themed like the ballroom from Beauty and the Beast, one like the West Wing and another that had photos, memorabilia and a spinning statue or Belle and the Beast dancing.
We went to Typhoon Lagoon in the afternoon but I didn’t take any photos there as my phone was in a locker for the majority of the day. Joe had gone to work but Rhona, Mari, Sam and Jade joined us. I absolutely love water parks and haven’t been to them enough whilst here as we didn’t get them for free until this week because they were blocked out because it was the busiest time of the year. We went to the Beach Club at the Boardwalk in the evening to toast some marshmallows on the beach and then ate at a restaurant called the Big River Grille and Brewing Works and each had a burger. It was the perfect way to end our little vacation!
So this is pretty much everything I’ve done outside of work this week. There was a hell of a lot packed into two days and we made the most of it! It’s a fairly picture heavy post so thanks for having a read and a look!
