WeBlogMCR Second Meet

WeBlogMCR Second Meet

The lovely Holly Wood from Holly Goes Lightly has created a group called WeBlogMCR. She organises meet ups every month or so as a way of meeting other bloggers and generally just to have a chat and a bit of fun. I went to the first meet at the Whim Wham Cafe but had to leave early so didn’t really get much time to take any photos. I managed to get myself along to the second meet last week and saw some familiar faces. It’s a really casual event so if you’re a blogger living around Manchester, then you should definitely come along to the next one.

The meet was based on the the Casillero del Diablo wine bus in Spinningfields near the John Rylands library. We were greeted with a glass of wine of our choice and then headed to the top open part of the bus for our meet. As is becoming a custom with the WeBlogMCR meets, Holly had prepared some signs for us to take photos with. There was also a Twitter/Instagram competition to win a few bits that she had nicely put together. It really is so relaxed and just a chance to catch up with other bloggers that you’ve met along the way and to meet new ones. I got to see the lovely Pamela again who is pictured on the right in the picture above with myself and Holly in the middle.

At the end of the evening Casillero del Diablo were kind enough to give us some goodies. We all got some money off a bottle of wine, some devil ears, a poncho (which came in extremely handy at Kendal Calling this weekend!) and a bottle each. I went for the Shiraz as I already know I’m a big fan!

If you’re new to blogging, taking advantage of any meet-ups nearby is a really great way to meet other bloggers. They are always friendly, always fun and there’s always someone in the same boat as you! If you’re local to Manchester, keep an eye on the WeBlogMCR Twitter (link above) as I’m sure Holly will put details out on there. We were thinking of having one mass girls night out with some food first and then drinks somewhere. Maybe I’ll see you at the next!
