NYX Liquid Suede

Another cheeky purchase that I got the same time as the NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipstick the other day; the NYX Liquid Suede in Vintage. This is what I originally went to Boots for because we all know I love a product that’s been hyped about. I actually technically got this for free too because I had £7 worth of Advantage Points that I had no idea about. Bargain.

I’d looked at a few colour swatches online before going and decided I wanted something that was different to what I have colour-wise. No more nudes because that’s all I seem to buy at the moment. Now I know, I could have gone for the blue (!) but that’s not quite the shade I had in mind… I love my reds but I have quite a few bright ones so decided to look at Vintage. It’s a beautiful dark, deep brown-red. I had really wanted to try Cherry Skies too which is redder but they didn’t have it in stock. Which is probably a good thing for my bank account. The NYX Liquid Suede in Vintage is definitely going to become a staple in my winter wardrobe. I adore the colour and it looks great with my skin complexion and a subtle smokey eye.

I’ve never been great at using doe-foot wand applicators, partially because I’m so used to using lipstick. This one works well, though, it has a good angle for lining my lips with the product first before filling in the rest with the flatter part. Do you use a liner with these? I have no idea but I don’t so far. They’ve been great without one and don’t bleed which is what I was most worried about.

The formula is much nicer than the Lingerie line, it’s not as matte and my lips don’t feel anywhere near as dry. The finish gives more of a lipstick look with a slightly satin finish. Although it does transfer quite easily if you touch your lips, it stays on for a good few hours and then fades throughout the day. I prefer this as it just looks less intense rather than going patchy.

Overall, NYX Liquid Suede in Vintage a pretty, damn good lippie. I love the colour because it’s so intense. It’s a vampy, deep red-brown that is going to be amazing for winter. The consistency of the formula is great and really easy to apply without bleeding onto any skin. The longevity is decent with five or so hours for a product that only costs £6.50. Definitely one of my favourite purchases as of late and I really want to get some more colours.

Have you tried any colours from the NYX Liquid Suede range? What did you think?
