I’ve built up a pretty strong The Ordinary skincare routine recently so wanted to share some of my favourite products. I can wholeheartedly say, they are some of the best and cheapest products I’ve ever used. Some of them have become a part of my daily, weekly and monthly routine. I love it when you find items like this where you wonder what you ever did before them. Do you ever feel like that?
Daily The Ordinary Skincare Routine
After I’ve cleansed my face in the morning, I always use my Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5. This is so moisturising and doesn’t mean that I get my foundation soaked up in any pores. Hyaluronic Acid is naturally found in your skin so it’s the perfect way to stay hydrated.
Next, before putting my make-up on, I’ll use the High Adherence Silicone Primer. It’s the perfect base that leaves your skin feeling silky smooth. I actually use this quite a lot when I’m having a makeup-free day. It gives the appearance of smoother skin and gives my skin a matte finish that blurs any imperfections.
In the evenings after I’ve cleansed, I’ll but lashings of “Buffet” on my skin. This seems to be their best seller and is a concoction of Hyaluronic Acid and a multitude of different peptides. It’s described as “an opulent feast for the skin” and boy, is it! It feels gorgeous on my skin and has never given me any aggravation that I sometimes get. My skin is bright and clear in the morning too which I love. A lot of the ingredients packed into this little bottle are to help the signs of ageing. I don’t really have any wrinkles yet but I’d rather prevent than fix so I’ll take it! Something else I often combine my “Buffet” concoction with is a dermal needle roller that I bought from Amazon. I’ll go into this another time though!
Weekly The Ordinary Skincare Routine
I actually have a few weekly products that I like to alternate with through-out the month. First up is the AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. This is actually my first experience of using an acid in my skincare routine aimed at exfoliating. After reading a lot of reviews, I did go against advice and decide to try at home rather than go for a peel at a salon first. I’d recommend only trying on a small area first in case you have a reaction. Once I was satisfied I wasn’t going to have a reaction, I tried it out for 10 minutes. I apply it using my fingers and leave it on for 10 minutes. It does look a lot like blood which gave Curt a bit of a scare!
Make sure when you’re using acids, to follow guidance online with using others alongside. I always use my Hyaluronic Acid afterwards to lock some moisture back in.
Another product that has become a firm contender in my weekly The Ordinary skincare routine is the Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%. I use this most nights at the moment as the cold and wind has really dulled my skin. It plumps your skin and makes you wake up glowing and bright. I wouldn’t recommend it whilst wearing make-up as I find it a little oily but if you’re going make-up free, a little goes a long way!
I have a few other products I love but these five are my top favourites in my The Ordinary Skincare Routine. A toning solution, hair products and a moisturiser and next on my list to try out. Have you ever tried anything from The Ordinary? What would you recommend?
