This week has been slightly less busy in terms of going to the parks and places. I started my training for the job I’m doing so had quite a few long days where I was finishing late so was either too tired to go out or just wanted to chill out and relax.
Monday marked my first day training at Prime Time in Hollywood Studios where I learnt what I needed to do when seating people. It’s so much fun and really easy, I just have to shout, for example, “Carter kids! Mom’s looking for you, lunch is ready!” Or something to that effect. Everyone was really nice and I think I’ve got it pretty good as they don’t do breakfast and stop serving at 9.30pm. After this first shift, Leah met me from work and we managed to get on Rock n Roller Coaster at the front which was so much fun!
The next few days I was just working and learning more things like how to check people in. I’ve been eating some of the food so that I know what it tastes like for my lunches too. It’s all traditional American food like meatloaf, pot roast, chicken pot pie, etc so I had never tried some of the dishes so was quite nice. Also, if you ever get the chance to go to Prime Time, get the Peanut Butter and Jelly Milkshake!! Oh my gosh! It’s so yummy! A bit sickly, but amazing!
Friday was my first day off so I headed over to Animal Kingdom with my friends Mari and Rachel. I had never seen a couple of attractions there such as Finding Nemo The Musical and the Festival of the Lion King and was blown away by them! So much fun. There are a couple of pictures below for you to see what it looked like. It then poured it down so we headed back to Vista Way to get ready to go to House of Blues for some food and then watch Monster’s University. I had some yummy ribs, not quite Smoky Bones standard, but still incredibly good. I want to go and see Monster’s U again as most of us fell asleep on and off during it because we were all so shattered and stupidly went to see an 11.15pm showing! So funny but I wont give away any spoilers.
I had another chill out day on Saturday and spent the majority of it in the gym and by the pool, attempting to stop myself from becoming a fatty!! I did a bit of a food shop too, which is obviously really exciting. Leah and I headed out to dinner at a restaurant called Sweet Tomatoes which I had never been to before. It had every kind of salad you could think of, an alternative to pizza which was made on a foccacia base, baked potatoes and corn breads. The dessert was amazing though!! Freshly cooked brownies with frozen yoghurt and toppings! Yummy!
I had my assessment on Sunday morning and passed with 96%! Wooh! I am now a fully fledged cast member at Disney World. Over the moon. In the evening, a few of us went to House of Blues for a night out. It was super busy and so much fun! It was nice to have a good night out for the first time here and also took part in the obligatory drinking out of red cups.
So that’s my second week all done! Looking at my shifts for the next week, I don’t seem to be starting until 4pm most days so I’m hoping to get some more tanning and swimming in so there might not be too many interesting pictures!
