So it’s officially been well over two months since I posted and I am so sorry! Since then, I have moved across the pond to the Sunshine State that is Florida. I started working for the Historical Research Center as part of the Cultural Representative Program in the UK Pavilion at Epcot. I’ve met so many amazing people and had the best time! To catch up on what I’ve been doing, I’ve put a few photos together of my favourite memories so far for you all to see. There really are far too many to put into one post so these are the photos that have stood out the most for me.
The big day was May 5th! Getting on the plane at Gatwick and starting what would be my life for the next 15 months in Disney World, Florida. I was lucky enough to get the apartment I wanted in Commons and have some really lovely room mates. Four bedrooms, 8 people and no bunk beds, thank god!
I organised a big meal at ‘Ohana for everyone in our Cultural Representative arrival group. I booked it months in advance because it fills up so far ahead. It’s an amazing buffet in the Polynesian and was a great way to meet everyone and get to know people’s faces. We’re hoping to do something similar for our three month anniversary in August too.
I think this picture was taken at one of our first few Lasses/Happy Mondays. These girls are the absolute gems who started the same day as me. I absolutely love Monday nights! There are always new faces and it’s so much fun to be a part of drinking games and to compete against other countries!
My first princess encounter of the year, with many more to come! Magic Kingdom always has and always will be my favourite park. I have so many memories with family and friends here. I’ve cried, I’ve laughed and I’ve made the best of friends here that will always be in my life.
Seeing Rhona for the first time in over a year. This girl is one of the best and I met her on my last program through Leah. She’s back doing the Swan and Dolphin program so I’ll get to share Florida with her once again! I can’t wait for the adventures we’re going to have.
I hate the fact I’m not looking in this photo! Heather is one of the Canadian girls and Felix is one of the Germans who also came on the 5th May. We went to Animal Kingdom for the day and met the boss and his Mrs a few weeks ago. They are my Sunday/Monday days off buddies.
I’m a sucker for the fireworks here, I can watch them every day. The July 4th fireworks were absolutely incredible! If you ever get to come to the States for Independence Day, you’ll get to see the amazing patriotic side of Americans. They are so united and it’s something I wish England was like more often! Everyone was so happy and proud to be American!
Charlotte’s birthday was the start of a two-week celebration with the girls! We went to Crystal Palace which is one of my favourite buffets with characters in Magic Kingdom. You meet Pooh and friends whilst tucking into some yummy Mickey Waffles, what more could you ask for?!
Leigh’s birthday was my favourite day of my Cultural Representative Program so far. We started the day with breakfast in the Norwegian Pavilion at Epcot with the princesses, expensive but so worth it and one more Disney restaurant checked off my bucket list. Following that, Leigh and I had a princess day in Magic Kingdom dressed as Tinkerbell and Rapunzel. It was so hot but so much fun and we got some amazing photos from all over the park. The evening brought a lot of us together to the Hoop-de-Doo Review which is such a fantastic dinner show at Fort Wilderness. Alcohol as well as food are included so it makes it that much better. What’s even better is we get 50% cast discount at the moment!
As you can see, I’ve been a busy bee! I don’t honestly know how I was able to post once a week during my summer program in 2013 but I am going to try and be a little more active. I want to share my Cultural Representative Program experience with you as much as I can. I’ll be taking my SLR out more now so I will get some better photos and do more lifestyle posts rather than beauty from now on. Until the next chapter in my Walt Disney World adventure…
