I love reading bloggers’ really personal posts, having someone open up to you whether it’s to get something off their chest or reveal their deepest darkest secrets helps you to feel like you know those you admire. Writing is definitely an outlet for me and thought I’d share 10 things you might not know about me, with you. They’re not all my biggest secrets but they’re things that you might like to know about.
The first is that I work in social media for festivals and events. After trying to get into a more creative, digital role, I finally landed a job doing marketing and left Apple after an amazing three and a half years. If someone had said to me a year ago I’d be doing this, I would have never have believed them but I absolutely love it! I’ve managed to go to my first (now of five) festivals in the very first week of working and have met some amazing people!
Secondly, I have a really eclectic taste in music. Like, ridiculously. I booked tickets to see Slipknot the other day and can’t wait. I’ve just started to go to Warehouse Project in Manchester. I love listening to One Direction really loudly on my surround sound. Lana del Rey is my favourite artist. I could go on…
For the last four weeks I have taken a complete lifestyle overhaul and have been gymming and eating really healthily. There will be a more focussed post soon on what I have been doing but I’m incredibly excited with my results so far and getting up at 6am for gym and spin sessions is really starting to pay off.
Last year I was completely heartbroken. I don’t think I would have ever admitted it at the time but I have come to terms with it in these last few months and can now say I’ve never been so happy. I don’t think you ever realise how rubbish things were until you come out on top on the other side.
I absolutely love American TV series! Especially vampire related ones. My favourites have to be The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, Dexter, American Horror Story, Prisonbreak, Friends, CSI, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother and more…
You will probably never see me cry. I hate crying when people are around me, I’ll pretty much always keep it inside or not draw attention to myself. Once no one’s around, I probably won’t need to cry anymore though!
Despite everything I’ve been through, I still believe in fate. I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason and that everyone has a soul mate. For every bad thing that happens in life, something twice as good will come along.
Everyone sees me as the Disney girl and yes, I love the films but the main reason is because of the company, and most of all, some of the work ethics and beliefs that Walt Disney himself had. He was told he would never be successful and you can see how wrong that is today!
I completely organise my week coming up at the weekends. I am in love with washi tape and my filofax! I have a different colour for different types of appointments and plans, stickers, gel pens…it may seem crazy but I actually stick to plans when I do it.
Finally, I find it hard to hold grudges. Yes, there are always those that we don’t get along with or have fallen out with but I can pretty much guarantee that if any of those people ever text me needing help or just a chat, I wouldn’t be able to turn them down or say no.
So there you are, a little bit about me, nothing deeply secretive but enough to get to know me a little more. If you have a similar type of post, please leave your links below, I would love to read them!
