Just recently, I’ve been using Spotify a lot more to find artists similar to ones that I already love without having to pay for downloads as money is a little bit tight at the moment whilst I’m saving for my move to Florida. I love reading other bloggers’ ‘What I’m Listening To’ series so thought I would start my own and build them up monthly.
As you probably know if you follow me on Twitter, I have become obsessed with Pretty Little Liars whilst dragging my housemate along for the ride too! I really love the soundtrack to it so have managed to find myself listening to lots of artists from that along with a few others that I’ve found along the way. So I thought I would give you a little insight into what I’ve been loving recently, on Spotify and from my own music collection.
First up is an artist called Bebe Rexha whose voice I have fallen in love with! I can only find two songs on Spotify so I’m not sure if she’s just fairly new on the music scene or whether she just doesn’t have everything on there. Think Aria Grande crossed with Lana del Rey, my personal favourite song has ‘I’m Gonna Show You Crazy’.
I’ve always loved Taylor Swift but I go through phases when it comes to listening to her. That phase restarted at the beginning of the year and I’ve been listening to Red and 1989 over and over again! I think I can thoroughly say I’m becoming a Swifty! Personal favourite song for her has to be Trouble as it remind me of a family holiday as it came on the radio in the car every time we were in it!
Lucy Hale (who plays Aria in PLL) has also just brought out an album called ‘Road Between’ and I love it! Definitely a country album but with a pop twist. Think Colbie Callait-esque and old school Taylor. She has such a beautiful voice which I discovered in an early episode and love the fact that she’s brought out an album. Personal favourites from her album are ‘Feels Like Home’ and ‘Love Tonight’. I’m hoping she’ll extend her tour to Florida whilst I’m there.
Meghan Trainor. There, I said it. She is one of my guilty pleasures, I love her songs! Her songs make me want to sing them at the top of my voice whilst I’m cleaning or gymming or similar. Despite what some critics have said, I find her songs really uplifting and full of positivity for me personally. Favourite at the moment is ‘Lips are Movin’ partially because it seems to be on everywhere I go at the moment and it hasn’t started to grind on me yet.
So there we have it. I’m hoping to do one of these each month, I can guarantee you a couple of laughs! I have a completely eclectic music which I’m sure you’ll soon find out. What are you listening to at the moment?
