Organising the Manchester #bbloggers Event

I’ve always wanted to organise an event but never had the guts to go for it. After it was mentioned in the #bbloggers chats on Twitter that there hadn’t been one in Manchester for a while, I decided to go for it. I asked if anyone would be interested in giving me a hand as I had never done it before and luckily Anastasia from Dainty Desires said that she would love to help with the Manchester #bbloggers Event which was great as I had met her at a previous event.

We approached different brands to raise interest for either supplying us with items for the gift bags or raffles or to see if they wanted to get involved in any other way. We had originally wanted a few brands there to demo products or give advice but unfortunately, we had the two we thought we had secured back out with only a week to go. I got some more interest from companies at Professional Beauty also and have since fallen in love with many of the products such as the DSM masks, the Herbal Infusion teas and the A Bit of Rough Exfoliating Cloth (which I have been using for a few months, love and have reviewed here already).

We managed to get a pretty good turn out to Vodka Revolutions at Deansgate Locks, Manchester with everyone having the chance to mingle and have a few cocktails. I made some yummy (if I do say so myself!) cake pops and Anastasia and I put popcorn, smarties and sweets into some jars and placed them around the bar.

Each person upon arrival got given a goody bag which we personalised with a little, handwritten message inside and the bloggers’ names on the outside. Half way through we did a raffle that contained prizes from John Frieda, Lush, Jane Iredale, some miniatures, DSM products and a booby prize of some Cadbury’s Wispa bars.

I had a lot of fun organising it, although it was slightly stressful! I would definitely try to arrange another but maybe in a slightly larger space and do it further in advance so that we have more time to find brands to come so that it is more interactive. I’ve put some pictures below from the day. If you came and have written any posts on the products you received or the event itself, please feel free to leave your link in the comments below.
